I usually begin work at 8:30 a.m. I turn on my computer and check my email messages. Then, I prepare breakfast. I’m responsible for planning transports on the PL-GB route. I receive orders from clients and make reservations for loading and unloading. I organize customs clearance and ferry crossings. Every day, I encounter new problems and stories.

One day, I received an email from a ferry operator. The email included information that three drivers had behaved inappropriately. They had used a fire extinguisher and run around the ship with it. They weren’t sober. I had to choose: either approve the costs of the damages or have the drivers banned from using the ferries for a year.

I called the owner of the transport company and described the problem. He talked with the drivers, but they didn’t admit to the actions. I was confused. It was their word against the ferry operator’s word. I asked the owner which option he wanted to choose because if I didn’t accept the costs, the drivers would be banned from the ferry. He agreed to cover the costs.

A few weeks later, I found out that it was true. The drivers had admitted that they had had a party. They noticed the recruitment announcement for firefighter positions and decided to test their own skills.

It was stupid but, after some time, a little funny.
